The National Professorship Program 2011
January 14th, 2011 With the attendance of higher education institutions representatives which are part of the Consortium of Mexican Universities, the 2010-2011 National Professorship Program hand in-reception ceremony was held at the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila. (UAdeC).
As he welcomed the Academicians from the Universidad de Guadalajara, and theAutonomous Universities of Aguascalientes, Ciudad Juárez, Coahuila, Estado de México, Nuevo León, Occidente, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas, Zacatecas y Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco, Mr. Mario Ochoa Rivera, President of CUMex and Dean of the UAdeC, mentined that there is a strong interest of all deans to fully consolidate the National Professorship strategic program of CUMex.

Flavia Jamieson Ayala, General Coordinator of CUMex and Planning Director of UA de C; Dr. Francisco Osorio Morales, Coordinator of National Professorship of the Consortium and Graduated Studies and Research Coordinator of de UA de C; Mr. Daniel Garza Treviño, responsible of the, Student Exchange, Comparability and Internationalization programs of CUMex and Academic Affairsof the UA de C, stressed that tangible results have already been obtained in the national research network structuring from the work developed at the Consortium Professorship.
Those of all who are part of CUMex, added, we are a standard reference for the rest of the universities, that is why we have the double task of not only strengthening our programs, but to continue our growth and setting anexample.
“CUMex is still a reference organism regarding quality education and must continue to be an organization, to which those institutions not yet incorporated, wish to become part of”, he said as he paraphrased, Dr. Rodolfo Tuirán, Higher Education Undersecretary.
In a meeting that took place at the “Emilio J. Talamás “Seminar Center, he stated to the deans that an evaluation about CUMexwork is being considered. One of the major purposes is to achieve a shared responsibility in the leadership of the Consortium. “A more participative and responsible way to make us feel part of the Consortium is to divide responsibility, and not to let a single institution all of the programs. For now, we are assuming such a responsibility in order to give fluency to this project. Today Dr. FranciscoOsorio is responsible for the National Professorships until the Deans´ Council determines the proper way of action”.
Ms. Flavia Jamieson stressed that the National Professorships is one of the most successful programs of the Consortium since it has not only been enriching all of the universities but also to the students, and the academic bodies trough the eight established areas.
The generalcoordinator of CUMex added: “The work accomplished through the country, the agreements, and discussions about exchanges created within the National Professorships framework, make us feel hopeful that 2011 session will allow us to consolidate the communication bonds among quality researchers of the nation.”
During the session, the commitment letter was signed by the host institution representatives,and the president and general coordinator of CUMex. Meanwhile the people responsible of the 2010 Professorships presented a general report about the development and the goals achieved in the fifth edition.
It is worth to note that the universities responsible for the 2011 National Professorships are:

• Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro, Chemistry Professorship. “Mario Molina Enríquez. ”
• Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas, Architecture Professorship, “Carlos Chanfón Olmos”
• Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas, Psichology Professorship “Julieta eres Pulido.”
