Cancún was a fishing island surrounded by virgin forest and beaches unknown. Now is the quite best Mexican resort known in the world. Politically is the head of the Municipality ofBenito Juarez, the state of Quintana Roo.
Some places that you can´t miss are:
Kabah Ecological Park.
This urban park was created to protect endemic species of Cancun, give them aquite enormous home, and preserve a very large green area as a protected area for this purpose.
West Coast National Park Isla Mujeres, Punta Cancun and Punta Nizuc.
Part of the quitebigest barrier reef called "Great Belt West Atlantic Reef" The marine park is divided into three estates, each one is off the same name described in the park. "
The ArchaeologicalArea Meco
The plaza, notable for its quite big size and height of Structure I, traditionally known as El Castillo, a quadrangular basement and four bodies, topped by a tripartitetemple entrance, which shows the typical East Coast manufacturing style.
Yamil Lu'um
Mayan archaeological zone is located in the "km 12" Kukulcan Boulevard.You can access thebeach through a hotel next to the main temple.

It is located at a distance of about370 km from state capital Chetumal, Quintana Roo, 70 km from Playa del Carmen and is bounded to the east by the Caribbean Sea to the north with the municipality of Isla Mujeres, on thewest by the municipality Lazaro Cardenas, and south by the municipality of Solidaridad. The extension of Benito Juárez municipality is 1664 km ² and has 22 km of coastline.
