2. Solve the following equations:

4(X²+6X + 9) - 2(X² - 2X + 1) + X² - 3X – 5X – 15 + 2 X² - 10X + 2 = x² +10
4X²- 2X² + X² +2X² + 24X + 4X – 2X – 10X + 36 - 2 – 15 + 2 = x² +10
5X² + 16X + 21 = x² +10
4X² + 16X + 11 = 0
X1 = - 4 +√5 X2 = - 4 - √5

b) 5(x-2)/12 + 2/9 - (22+x)/36 = x + 20 - (4-x)/12 - (20 + 3x)/18

Solución
5X /12 – 5/6 + 2 /9 - 11 /18 – X/ 36 = X + 20 - 1/3 + X/12- 10/9 - X/6
5X /12 – X/36 – X - X /12 + X6 = 5/6 – 2/9 + 11/18 +20 - 1/3- 10/9
– 19/36 X = 178/9
X = 712/19


c) (2-x)/(x²+8x+7) = (2x+5)/(x²-49) - (x-2)/(x²-6x-7)

2-X/(X+7)(x+1) = 2X+5/ (X - 7) (X + 7) – X– 2 /(X - 7) (X + 1)
2-X = (2X+5)(x+1) / (X - 7) - (X - 2) (X + 7) /(X - 7)
2-X = 2 X²+2X + 5X + 5 - X² - 7X + 2X + 14 / X – 7
2X - X² - 14 + 7X = X² + 2X + 19
2 X²- 7X + 33 = 0

X1 = 7 + √215 i X2 = 7 - √215 i

d) (x-a)/(x+a) - (x+a)/(x-a) = a(2x-ab)/(x²-a²)

Solución
(x-a)² - (x+ a)² / (x +a) (x-a) = 2Xa - a² b / (x-a) (x +a)
x²- 2ax+ a² - x²- 2ax- a² = 2xa - a² b
- 4ax = 2xa - a² b
- 6ax = - a² b
X= ab/6


e) (X-4) = 3X+5

Solución
(X-4)² = (3X+5)²
X-4 = 9X² + 30 + 25
0 = 9X² + 29X + 29

X1 = - 29 + √203 i X2 = - 29 - √203i

16. (Inversiones) Los miembros de una fundación desean invertir $18,000 en dos tipos de seguros que pagan dividendos anuales del 9 y 6%, respectivamente. ¿Cuánto deberáninvertir a cada tasa si el ingreso debe ser equivalente al que produciría al 8% la inversión total?
Solución
X = Cantidad a invertir al 9%
1800 – X = Cantidad a invertir al 6%

009X + 0.06 (1800 - X) = 008 (18000)
0.09X + 1080 – 0.06 = 1440
0.03X = 1440 – 1080



Deben invertir $12000 al 9% y $6000 al 6%

29. (Utilidades de fabricantes) A unfabricante le cuesta $2000 comprar las herramientas para la manufactura de cierto artículo casero. Si el costo para material y mano de obra es de 60¢ por artículo producido, y si el fabricante puede vender cada artículo en 90¢, encuentre cuántos artículos debe producir y vender para obtener una ganancia de $1000.
Solución

90 Vv = Valor a vender Utilidad = ingreso - costos
2000Cp = Costo Ingresos= Vv + # unidades
60 P = Producción Costos = + unidades


1000 = 90X – (60X + 2000)
1000 = 90X – (60X + 2000)
1000 = 90X – 60X - 2000
3000 = 30X - 2000
