PRESENTE SIMPLE. Características
1.- Se dice que una oración está en VOZ ACTIVA cuando la significación del verbo es producida por la persona gramatical a quien aquél se refiere:
John writes the letter
SUBJECT + VERB + COMPLEMENT.
2.- Se dice que una oración está en VOZ PASIVA cuando la significación del verbo es recibida por la personagramatical a quien aquél se refiere:
The letter is written by John
OBJECT + VERB TO BE + VERB IN PARTICIPLE + ARTICLE + SUBJECT

The manufacturers make t-shirts of cotton. (El fabricante hace camisetas de algodón.)

Voz pasiva

PASADO SIMPLE
Una oración está en VOZ ACTIVA cuando la significación del verbo es producida por la persona gramatical aquien aquél se refiere. Ejemplo:
Pedro de Mendoza founded Buenos Aires. (Pedro de Mendoza fundó Buenos Aires). SUBJECT + VERB TO BE IN PAST + COMPLEMENT
Una oración está en VOZ PASIVA cuando la significación del verbo es recibida por la persona gramatical a quien aquél se refiere. Ejemplo:
Buenos Aires was founded by Pedro de Mendoza. (Buenos Aires fue fundada por Pedro de Mendoza).
OBJECT+ VERB TO BE IN PAST + VERB IN PARTICIPLE + ARTICLE + SUBJECT
La voz pasiva en inglés es una forma compuesta por el verbo auxiliar TO BE (que es solamente una herramienta gramatical sin significado propio) y el participio pasado del verbo principal: ejemplo. El complemento de la oración activa pasa a sujeto de la pasiva. Como en castellano, el sujeto de la activa se puede conservar como sujetoagente.

Dinah is one of the kindest girls to have existed , but it is very , very lazy . There is nothing you like better than curling up in a warm spot in the sun anddo nothing.
Dinah 's mother wanted her daughter to learn a lot to read , but the lady who tried to teach soon gave up . "There is no use ," he said , "Dinah will not learn . 's Not dumb, but he is too lazy for anything ."
It happened shortly after this, a young man from Massachusetts came to the house where Dinah lived. He brought something that no one in the neighborhood had seen before - apair of skates.
When Dinah saw the young man running on his skates side to side of the square was so surprised I almost did not know what to think. She ran after him like a cat, his dark eyes shining like never before shone.
