Moon
The Earth is the third planet from the Sun and the fifth in size in the nine mayor planets. The average distance between the Earth and the Sun is 149,503000km. It is theonly planet known to have life. It is the only planet that has atmosphere containing 21% of oxygen. The Earth is not perfect sphere.
It can be considered that the Earth is divided into 5 parts:
1.The atmosphere: a gaseous envelope that surrounds the solid body of the planet
2. The Hydrosphere: is liquid. It is the layer of water, oceans shaped which covers 70% of Earth´s surface
3. TheLithosphere: is solid. It is the rigid outermost shell of a rocky planet
4. The Mantle: is solid. It´s part of a terrestrial planet
5. The Core: it is solid. It is the heavy inside the Earthand make up most of its mass
As the Earth orbits around the sun it turns on it´s axis, rotating right around in 24 hours. The side of Earth that faces the Sun has day-time and the side of the earththat is turned away from the sun is night-time. As the Earth orbits around the Sun it tilts very slightly and so gives us the seasons.
The Moon
The Moon is the only natural satellite ofEarth. It is the second brightest object in the sky after the Sun.
As the Moon orbits around the Earth once per month, the angle between the Earth, the Moon and the Sun changes; we see this as thecycle of the Moon's phases. Moon has no atmosphere. But evidence from Clementine (Clementine was a joint space project between the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization (BMDO, previously the StrategicDefense Initiative Organization, or SDIO) and NASA. Launched on January 25, 1994, the objective of the mission was to test sensors and spacecraft components under extended exposure to the spaceenvironment and to make scientific observations of the Moon and the near-Earth asteroid 1620.) suggested that there may be water ice in some deep craters near the Moon's South Pole which are permanently...
