El objetivo principal de la investigación es proponer la elaboración de un manual de
documentación de juntas en elementos de concreto armado. Esta investigación está
enfocada en la descripción de una serie deparámetros recopilados en bibliografías
existentes que cumplan con todas las normativas vigentes exigidas. El uso de juntas en
muchas estructuras de concreto armado resulta ser muy importante, pues permiten
flexibilizar estructuras rígidas, evitar el resquebrajamiento o agrietamiento de éstas y
permiten la continuidad constructiva al momento de vaciar el concreto. Estudiantes,
ingenieros,arquitectos, y afines, no cuentan con información organizada y precisa en
relación a la aplicabilidad, construcción, caracterización y selección de juntas en
elementos de concreto armado. De allí, la importancia de contar con un manual de
documentación que además de informar y resaltar la importancia del tema, clasifique
para cada caso el procedimiento adecuado para la construcción de juntas, mediantenormas y recomendaciones, a fin de para garantizar el buen funcionamiento de las
mismas. Por otro lado, este trabajo de investigación serviría como base para futuras
investigaciones que ayuden a la creación de normas y parámetros a seguir, para el
cuidado y conservación de las juntas, contribuyendo así a la prolongación de la vida útil
de las estructuras de concreto armado.

The main research objective is to propose the elaboration of a documentation manual of joints in
concrete in reinforced elements. This research is focused on describing a set of parameters
collected from existing bibliographies that meet all current regulatory requirements. The use of
joints in many concrete structures is very important because rigid structures becomes more
flexible,preventing cracking or fissuring of these and allow constructive continuity when pouring
concrete. Students, engineers, architects, and related, have not organized and accurate
information regarding the applicability, construction, characterization and selection of joints in
reinforced concrete elements. Hence, the importance of having a documentation manual also
inform and highlight theimportance of the topic, categorize each case the appropriate procedure
for the construction of joints, through regulations and recommendations, to ensure the smooth
running of the same. Furthermore, this research could serve as a basis for future research that will
create standards and benchmarks to follow, for the care and maintenance of joints, thereby
extending the useful life of concretestructures .
