EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Based on the supplied information, technical meetings and your discussion with our expert, Dr. Marian Szatkowski, we are happy to provide you with a modeling methodology to help you improve your design of theGas Handling System at Caletones. Our modeling approach will involve close interaction with CODELCO experts and a significant portion of the work will be done onsite with your staff in Rancagua or Caletones. We base our proposal on the P&IDs, and other CODELCO information you provided for describing the CODELCO Teniente Gas Handling System. Recent Project Experience CODELCO SulphurRT Project –Proven Results ANDRITZ AUTOMATION recently completed the Dynamic Simulation and Training at CODELCO Norte Refinery and CODELCO Radomiro Tomic Sulphur RT Project. These projects had very positive results and have been enthusiastically endorsed by the plant operators and management and CODELCO Norte Refinery – Proven Results specially the CODELCO VCP. The preceding highlights projects immediatelyrelevant to CODELCO’s Gas Handling System project. We have many other mining reference sites and have included a list in Appendix A. ANDRITZ AUTOMATION Scope Model Development & Optimization (included): Develop dynamic models based on current P&IDs (and other plant data), validate and then test different scenarios to optimize the current process behavior in the plant. In the near future CODELCO willbe able also to: Control System Validation (not included): By connecting the models to an offline version of the control system, ANDRITZ AUTOMATION will correct and validate the process logic when CODELCO desire to migrate their current control system (Bailey) to the new control system (Invensys probably). Operator Training (not included): Using a combination of model-based operator training andcomputer-based training, ANDRITZ AUTOMATION will complete an operator training and certification.
