The purpose of this essay is to know more about the U.N., about their strengths and weaknesses, its origin, what he has done and his future projects. The organization was created in1945, in San Francisco, California; to be signed by 51 countries the letter of the United Nations. Is an international organization whose stated aims are facilitating cooperation in internationallaw, international security, economic development, social progress, human rights, and achievement of world peace.
The United Nations' system is based on five principal organs, the General Assembly,the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council, the Secretariat, and the International Court of Justice. The six official languages of the United Nations, used in intergovernmental meetings anddocuments, are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish. The Secretariat uses two working languages, English and French.
The General Assembly is the main deliberative assembly of the UnitedNations. Composed of all United Nations member states, the assembly meets in regular yearly sessions under a president elected from among the member states. Traditionally, the Secretary-General makesthe first statement, followed by the president of the assembly. The Security Council is charged with maintaining peace and security among countries, is made up of 15 member states, consisting of 5permanent members which are China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States, and 10 non-permanent members.
Most of us have heard about United Nations peacekeeping and humanitarianassistance, but they are many other ways that the UN affects all our lives, and they are not always so well known.
