Israel and the Palestinians’ problem is a consequence of a conflict between two nations with a large amount of differences such as national project, religion, territory, culture and perspectives. Both are not able to share their interests and maintain a peace state. According to this, politicians should find some chances to guarantee stable peace among their people.
*Political willpower tochannel their efforts into the peace process, taking into account United Nations resolutions on the Israel/Palestine conflict, and both nations reducing their aspirations of power coexisting without violence is what lead to a chance of establishing a stable peace.

The relationship between these two nations dates back to biblical times. Firstly, Muslim rulers controlled the area until 1917. Then, the Jewish population began to expand more and more because of Holocaust and it started a Zionist movement which was looking for an independent Jewish state. Therefore, the problems between them arose: violence, terrorism and conflict of interests. Nowadays, the conflict continues and Palestinians petition the United Nations to grant them statehood. They wish the establishment and recognition of aPalestinian state, which would confirm its political legitimacy and legal equality of the Palestinian people.

As I can see, political willpower is totally necessary to solve the conflict. Politicians should channel their efforts into the peace process in these regions, not only Arabs and Jewish politicians but also powerful nations like United States. As an example, some political effortsbetween Israelis and Palestinians took place in 90’s. Prime Minister Rabin was willing to compromise with the Arabs. Nevertheless, he was assassinated by a Jewish fanatic opposed to his policy of trying to commit with the Palestinians.
The chances for an agreement are related to the political will of the Israel, Palestine and United States to correct the situation, it means, to establish adefinitive peace process. To begin with, it would be necessary to dismantle Israeli military incursions and the Palestinian extremist movements. Obviously, a peace process could not be achieved with the presence of violence and terrorism.
I understand that the Israel/Palestine conflict mainly concerns to both nations but, as everybody knows, the decisions made by a powerful nation as United Stateshave high influence over the rest of nations. From this perspective, although United States has a magnificent relationship with Israel, it should support the whole peace process to achieve a peace compromise from Palestine as well.

Furthermore, United Nations has issued a series of resolutions alluding to the Israel/Palestine conflict. This international institution has been working to findfair and lasting positions throughout the years. Some examples of the content of these resolutions are: territorial recognition, requests for the cessation of violence and destruction in regions, military force elimination, creating a good political and economic environment and continue with the establishment of a peace process.
From my point of view, they should be considered as relevant legalinstruments at the multilateral level. However, most of them were not taken into account as they should. This has happened due to the different wars in the area which made very complicated their accomplishment.

Currently, the Palestine Liberation Organization is the major representative of Palestinians and the Arab states which does not want to recognize Israel’s legitimacy. Moreover, Israelrefused to give up some of the captured territory. Regarding this, most of people believe that peace is not possible. Nevertheless, as I have claimed before, if both nations coexist without violence and reduce their aspirations of power it could appear a chance of establishing a stable peace.
