TECNOLOGIAS PON
• A-PON o ATM-PON (Redes Ópticas Pasivas ATM): Las especificaciones iniciales definidas para lasredes PON fueron hechas por el comité FSAN (Full Service Access Network), el cual utiliza el estándar ATM como protocolo de señalización de la capa 2 (Enlace de Datos). • GPON Gigabit-Capable PON(GPON): El principal objetivo de GPON es ofrecer un ancho de banda mucho más alto que sus anteriores predecesoras, y lograr una mayor eficiencia para el transporte de servicios basados en IP. • EPONEthernet PON: Este sistema aplica los beneficios que trae usar la fibra óptica en el transporte vía Ethernet.
